Service Program

An important component of Mount Carmel’s Theology curriculum is Chris-
tian Service. Beginning with the Class of 2009, freshmen and sophomores
each are expected to complete 10 hours of service, while juniors are expected
to complete 20 hours, for a total of 40 hours of service. All service experiences must be pre-approved by the student’s Theology teacher or by the Director of the Service Program. In addition to documenting each service experience, students are required to refl ect in writing on each year’s service experiences, following the guidelines presented in their Theology classes.

Mount Carmel Service Project Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior Service Project hours MUST be completed by the first Friday following Easter Break – 4 April 2008. The Reflection Papers based on the Service Work must be handed in to your Theology teacher by Friday, 2 May 2008. Failure to complete the Service Hours, and the Reflection Paper on time, will result in a Failure for Service, and will require attendance at a session of summer school to complete this requirement.
