HEAD VARSITY COACH - BRIAN HURRY

Brian Hurry begins his 12th season at Mount Carmel and his 10th as Varsity Head Coach. Before coming to Mount Carmel, Coach Hurry played baseball at the College of St. Francis and had the privilege to play for baseball's all-time winningest coach, Gordie Gillespie. At St. Francis, he was a reserve middle infielder on the 1993 NAIA National Championship team. During his final season, Hurry was named Team Captain for the Saints' 1996 Regional-Finalist ballclub.

Coach Hurry's emphasis on preparation, discipline, and respect for the game has resulted in seven Regional-Championships, four Sectional-Championships, the school's first "Elite Eight" appearance in 2003, and a State Runner-Up finish in 2005. In nine seasons as Head Coach, his teams have averaged 29 wins per season and have posted an overall record of 259 - 92. In that span, 35 players have gone on to compete at the collegiate level, including 15 Division I players. In addition, five MC players have been selected in the Major League Baseball Amatuer Draft. Coach Hurry completed his Master's Degree in Administration in 2004 and currently serves as an Assistant Athletic Director at Mount Carmel High School.
