The Society of Saint Cyril
Dan LaCount, Assistant Director of Institutional Advancement
Coordinator of the Society of Saint Cyril

The Saint Cyril Society takes its name from Saint Cyril of Jerusalem. St. Cyril was a bishop in the 4th century, and was instrumental at the Council of Constantinople in 381. He is the patron saint of the Carmelite Order, and his name was used in 1900 to dedicate St. Cyril College, which became Mount Carmel High School in 1925.

The Society of Saint Cyril was established by the Carmelites to offer deserved recognition to those who support the mission of Mount Carmel High School. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Society, membership begins with Sustaining Members whose gifts to Mount Carmel total $1,000 or more in a calendar year. Membership begins with the first year. It is hoped that this level of giving will continue to Life Membership, which includes seven individual levels of recognition leading to the $1 million Founders Level.

Members are guests of President/Principal Fr. Carl J. Markelz, O.Carm. at an annual reception and dinner. A citation certifying membership in the Society is presented to each member. Names of the members are listed in an appropriate Mount Carmel publication.
