Foundations and Grants
M. C. Foundation
The M.C. Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated
to the education of young men at Chicago's Mount Carmel High School. Dedicated
alumni and friends founded the M.C. Foundation to help students with established
financial need. In the past three years the Foundation has contributed over
$60,000 in supplemental tuition grants to students from all racial and cultural
backgrounds. All this was done with help and cooperation of Tom Carey, owner
of Hawthorne Race Course and its manager Howie Fagan.
Each year the Foundation sponsors a "Salute to Champions" day
at Hawthorne Race Course. This is the one fund raising event that honors
former coaches and players who made valuable contributions to Mount Carmel.
