Freshman Overnight September 19 - 20
Freshman Overnight September 19 - 20
Mount Carmel will host the annual Freshman Overnight on the evening of September 19 through Sunday morning, September 20. All freshmen are expected to participate. Freshmen should report to the Commons between 6:00 and 6:30 PM. Dinner will be provided, followed by a variety of activities to help them better understand the opportunities that Mount Carmel offers, and continue to develop new friendships. The overnight also will include a ceremony at which all freshmen will receive their Scapular. The overnight concludes on Sunday morning with Mass at 8:15 AM in the Cacciatore Gym. Families of freshmen are invited to attend the Mass.
Freshman IMPACT September 21 - 25
Freshman Impact week focuses on the gift of God’s creation and our responsibility to care for and maintain the integrity of that gift. Students learn about the earth and the need to take responsibility for the resources we have been given, while engaged in a variety of environmental-related service projects and learning experiences. The week concludes with a day of reflection and a class liturgy.

The fourth annual “Keepin’ on for KFK” 16-inch Softball Tournament brought out hundreds of people to Kennedy Park on July 11 in memory of Kevin Kennelly, a Beverly teen who died in July 2011. According to officials, $10,000 was raised. That money will go toward the Kevin Kennelly Scholarship Fund, which provides financial assistance to students at Mt. Carmel High School, where Kennelly would have been a senior in the fall of 2011.
