Mount Carmel Names New President
Fr. William Harry, Prior Provincial of the Carmelite Province of the Most Pure Heart of Mary, and the Board of Members of Mount Carmel High School announced today the appointment of Edward (Ned) Hughes, Mount Carmel Class of 1970, as president of Mount Carmel High School. Hughes, who will succeed current president Fr. Tony will become the first lay president of the 116-year old school upon assuming his leadership role on July 1, 2016.
Mount Carmel to host second annual Spring Arts Festival
Mount Carmel High School will host the second annual Spring Arts Festival Fundraiser on Saturday, May 14 at 6:30 p.m. The festival will feature live performances by the Mount Carmel High School Group Interpretation team, Drama team, Speech team, Band, Choir, A Cappella Singers and showcase artwork by the Visual Arts classes. MOUNT CARMEL STUDENTS SPEND EASTER BREAK TRAVELING ABROAD
Mount Carmel continued its commitment to providing students with life-shaping experiences through two organized study trips during Easter break. One group traveled to Italy and Greece, while a second explored Spain.
MOUNT CARMEL GRAD INVENTS WAR PAINT FOR MILITARY, HUNTERS
Norris, a Mount Carmel High School grad, would often go on three-day reconnaissance missions as a Navy SEAL. He wore military-issued face paint in hiding, which he would often have to reapply as sweat would wash away the greasy camouflage.
