Faculty attend adolescent brain conference
Mount Carmel faculty members ventured to the Westin Copley Place Hotel in Boston, Mass., to learn more about the adolescent brain. The conference, sponsored by MIT and Harvard, offered Dan Burke, Sean Sweeney, and Patrick McGarry access to some of the nation’s top experts in the field.
STEM Cohort prepares students for college and career
Mount Carmel is beginning its own STEM cohort, run by the Science and Technology Department Facilitator Mr. Andrew Sobucki and assisted by physics teacher Mr. Caribee Collier.
Jalen Hill '16 receives Chick Evans Scholarship
The UI’s latest 5-star recruit is 5-foot-10, 160 pounds and won’t play a lick in college. Meet Jalen Hill, a 17-year-old senior at Chicago Mount Carmel, who accepted a full ride to the UI earlier this week. Hill is a recipient of the prestigious Chick Evans Caddie Scholarship. Selections are based on caddie skills, grades, character and financial need.

The Adult Spirituality Series is a three-part event taking place October 27, 2015, February 2, 2016, and April 5, 2016. This year's guest speaker is Bob Kolatorowicz, a staff member at Old St. Patrick's church where he works closely with the adult learning and social justice ministries. parents, alumni and friends are encouraged to attend.
