Carmelite Tradition
Drawing on the Carmelite tradition, through the study of theology our students should develop skills necessary to bear witness to the presence and love of God, live a life of active service to others, and boldly proclaim the dignity of all people as created in the image of a loving God. As theology teachers, we hope that our students will be courageous witnesses to the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the rest of their lives.
The Carmelite charism includes a deep commitment to justice, peace and the integrity of God's creation (JPIC). As Carmelite educators, we have been given the responsibility of assisting our young men in living out this important part of their four-year journey at Mount Carmel. In response to our Strategic Plan's call to "heighten our Catholic and Carmelite Identity and Mission" and to "expand our service learning opportunities for students to express their faith in action" we have implemented a Carmelite service program called IMPACT.
