Culinary Arts

Please join Mount Carmel faculty member Jason Bienko for a unique culinary experience. Mr. Bienko graduated from The Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago Culinary School and has served in many high-level capacities in the food and service industry before joining us in the classroom here at Mount Carmel. Your four-day experience with Chef Bienko will include Day 1. Saucier & Culinary Chemistry, Day 2. Garde Manger & Food Art, Day 3. Boucher and Grillardin & Knife Skills and Techniques, Day 4. Patisserie & Decoration.  This camp is open to all boys in 4th grade through incoming Mount Carmel freshmen.

This camp will be split into two specific groups. Boys in 3rd through 5th grade will be in our 1st session, from 9 a.m. to 11 am. Boys in grades 6 through incoming freshmen will be in our 2nd session, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Using Math skills you already possess, and new techniques you will learn,  construct mathematical models on real-life situations (sports, gaming, and the stock market) & use those models, with real-world data, to analyze your models' predictive ability.

Campers of all skills and abilities are welcome. The camp will include range work as well as actual course play and is open to all boys in grades 4 through incoming Mount Carmel freshmen.

Campers must bring their own clubs.  Clubs will not be provided.


Art

June 27-30 | 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.

Please join Mount Carmel’s Art Department Chair, Mrs. Julie Chappetto in this summer’s offering. Students will be focusing on the creative process each day incorporating drawing and painting skills into daily activities. Students will explore different art mediums and the application through sketching. Weather permitting some sketching will be outdoors. Each camper will produce at least one piece of finished artwork to take home.  This camp is open for all boys in grades 4 through 8.

Drone

August 11th 9am - 2pm
Mount Carmel High School
Boys in grades 6 through 8 are invited to join 2008 Mount Carmel graduate Mr. Dan Mehay '08, (owner of For the Win Robotics) for this exciting 1-day camp.  Participants will learn how to build, code, and fly a drone. Lunch will be provided, but students with dietary restrictions are encouraged to bring their own.  

At the conclusion of the camp, students will compete in a drone competition.

Limited to 20 students

The cost for this camp is $50

Speed

Please join Coach Harold Leonard and his staff for this summer's offering. Our camp goal will be for all campers to have fun while learning and building new skills. Campers of all skills and abilities are welcome. Each camper will be placed into a category that best fits their current skill set along with grade and age. Campers will work on explosive plyometric drills while also working on the proper front side and rear side mechanics. Also, campers will strengthen and develop lower body quick-twitch muscles, while learning to focus mentally in highly competitive situations.

This camp is open to all boys in grades 5th through incoming Mount Carmel freshmen and they should be prepared to train indoors and out.

STEM

July 18-20 | 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.

Please join Mount Carmel Science Department Chair, Mr. Caribee Collier for this summer’s STEM Camp offering. Students will participate in exercises that demonstrate energy transfer, learn and understand the materials that we use every day, by classifying and testing the strength of different polymer materials, and program and fly drones using the FTW CODE for a block based coding experience that manipulates the drone’s flight using coding commands. Teams will be assembled for competition.  This camp is open for boys in grades 5 - incoming Mount Carmel freshmen.
