Class of 2024



The following information is for parents and students who wish to apply at Mount Carmel High School for the 2020-2021 school year. Families can visit the Class of 2024 portal for important information. 


October 15th:  Mount Carmel admission application and financial aid application processes open. 

November 22nd: Entrance Exam registration opens. 
December 4th: Last day to submit requests and documentation for additional testing time for the entrance exam to Mrs. Maureen O’Donnell, Director of the McDermott-Doyle Program, at modonnell@mchs.org.  Mount Carmel does allow additional testing time for students who receive testing accommodations. 

December 7th: Entrance Exam for the Class of 2024 at 8:00 a.m. 
December 7th: Scholarship applications open.  Students who test at Mount Carmel are eligible to apply for numerous scholarships.  Click here for scholarship information. Students will be notified of awards by March 31, 2020.
December 7th: "Next step" instructions are emailed to parents of prospective students.

December 14th: Make up exam for those that have not tested at a Catholic School.  
December 20th: Grammar school transcripts are due along with grades from the first quarter or first trimester of 8th grade, and standerized test scores.

January 4th: Financial aid application closes.

January 14th:  
Class of 2024 application closes.

January 24th: All acceptance letters for Class of 2024 students who tested at Mount Carmel will be sent.

March 1st: Last day to submit completed tuition contracts for the Class of 2024.

Feb 7th: Class of 2024 Meet and Greet and MC basketball game.

February 24th: Tuition contracts will be available for completion through your school portal account.

Now that you have taken the exam, What's Next?

To register at Mount Carmel High School, please complete the following:

  • Online admission application by January 14th via our Campus Portal.  Families will receive an email with instructions.
  • Parental Request for Release of Records and submit your grammar school transcripts immediately.  Records and letters of recommendation should be submitted to Mount Carmel no later than December 20th.   Schools may send a hard copy or email records to cferguson@mchs.org.
  • Physical Form and upload the completed document to the school portal under your checklist. This form must be completed by July 1, 2020.
  • Any exemption requests for immunizations or examinations due to religious reasons.  Parents must complete this form.
  • Upload a copy of the student's birth certificate to the school portal.
  • Freshman interview.  In addition to reviewing placement test results and 7th and 8th grade academic records, we invite each freshman and at least one parent to participate in an interview as part of the admissions process.   Interviews will be held on the following dates from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m:
    • Tuesday, January 7      (last names beginning A to G)
    • Wednesday January 8 (last names beginning H to O)
    • Thursday January 9   (last names beginning P to Z)
    • You do not need to RSVP for an interview.  Simply come on the date assigned (or on either of the other dates if it is more convenient).  There will be plenty of staff on hand to meet with you.  Interviews should require no more than 20 minutes.    
Please Note:
  • If applying for Financial Aid, complete the Financial Aid Application by January 4th. Applications are made through  https://smartaidforparents.com.
  • If applying for Mount Carmel scholarships, applications, essays, and letters of recommendation for scholarships are due by January 14th. The list of scholarship applications can be found at www.mchs.org/Scholarships.
  • Scholarship and Financial Aid results are communicated by the end of March.

All families, regardless of their selected payment plan chosen will be enrolled in Smart Tuition once registration for the upcoming school year is complete. Smart Tuition is our tuition management system that enables you to pay your tuition by credit card or through a savings or checking account.

Lunch payments are handled by uploading funds with a credit card via online account at MyMealtime.com or by check.  Information on lunch payments can be found on the Campus Portal on the Resource board.
