Construction on the second floor began June 19, 2017. Construction will include a complete remodel of half of the second-floor classrooms, complete remodel of the bathroom, asbestos abatement, replacement of the lockers and refinishing the floors and walls in the hallway. Construction will continue in June of 2018 when the remaining classrooms will be renovated and an elevator will be installed in the main academic building.
Beginning in 2015, $1,000,000 was spent removing the old boilers original to the main building and replaced with a new, energy efficient boilers. The new boiler system will better regulate heating in the classrooms, allowing for a more comfortable learning environment for our students and teachers. As you can see in the photos below, the new boilers take up only a fraction of the space the original boilers did. While this project is not visible to students or visitors, it is critical for comfortable classrooms, decreasing costs, and creating an energy efficient building.
