THE GREATEST DIVER IN MOUNT CARMEL HISTORY

Over the course of the past four years, Eric Correa has become one of the most accomplished divers in the State of Illinois, qualifying 4 times for the state finals. Along the way, Eric earned an offer to dive at the University of Arizona, and this spring he was invited to dive with the Puerto Rican Olympic diving team. Eric’s achievements are remarkable enough on their own but are especially noteworthy when you consider that our pool does not have a diving board.

Eric’s success at Mount Carmel would not have been possible without his loving parents, Mary and Leo ‘90, who trusted us to make athletic accommodations for their son, and Coaches Tina Grunhauer and Matt McGuire, who scheduled meets, helped with transportation to the aquatic facilities at UIC, and supported him throughout his journey into the Mount Carmel record books.

We look forward to watching Eric as he moves on to college, and hope his dream of representing Puerto Rico in the Olympics becomes a reality.
