WELCOME CLASS OF 2023

The following information is for parents and students who wish to apply at Mount Carmel High School for the 2019-2020 school year. Families can visit the Class of 2023 portal for important information. 

IMPORTANT DATES:

November 17-December 1: Pre-register for Entrance Exam (not required). 
Students with an IEP, submit documentation to cferguson@mchs.org by November 29.

Saturday, December 1, 2018:
Placement Test Class of 2023, 8:00a.m. to 11:00a.m. (arrive by 7:45a.m.)

If you took the Entrance Exam at a different school: Contact Mr.Craig Ferguson, cferguson@mchs.org.

December 1, 2018: Scholarship and Financial Aid application period opens.

December 2, 2018: "Next step" instructions are emailed to parents of prospective students.

December 21, 2018: Grammar school transcripts due (including information from 7th grade and the first
quarter or first  trimester of 8th grade, in addition to standardized test scores).

January 8, 9, 10, 2019 (4:00p.m. to 8:00p.m.): Class of 2023 parent and prospective student Interviews
(No appointment needed).

January 18, 2019: Acceptance notifications mailed.

January 18, 2019: Tuition contracts available for completion through your school portal account.


January 25, 2019:
 Deadline for scholarship applications and early application deadline for Financial Aid        (to be notified of awards by March 8, 2019). 

March 8, 2019: Scholarship and financial aid notifications mailed.

March 8, 2019: Deadline, completed tuition contracts for Class of 2023.

March 12, 2019: Student/parent orientation for Class of 2023. Families may choose to attend sessions at 5:00 pm, 6:00 pm, or 7:00 pm. 

March 15, 2019: Financial Aid application period closes.

Didn't test at MC?

If you did not test at Mount Carmel, please contact the school where you tested to transfer your test scores,  contact Mr. Craig Ferguson, Director of Admissions and Enrollment, cferguson@mchs.org.

Now that you have taken the exam, What's Next?

To register at Mount Carmel High School, please complete the following:

  • Your family should have received an email with instructions for logging on to the Campus Portal through which your parents can complete the online application by December 20. 
  • Please fill out the Parental Request for Release of Records and turn that in to your grammar school immediately – records and letters of recommendation should be submitted to Mount Carmel by December 21. Schools may send a hard copy or email records to cferguson@mchs.org.
  • Complete the Physical Form and upload the completed document to the school portal under your checklist. This form must be completed in 2018. 
  • Parents or legal guardians who are requesting a religious exemption to immunizations or examinations must complete this form.
  • Upload a scanned copy of the student's birth certificate to the school portal.
  • Admissions decisions and Entrance Exam results mailed January 15.
  • Registration Begins
  • Financial Aid applications early deadline January 25. Applications are made through  https://smartaidforparents.com
  • All scholarship applications, scholarship essays, and letters of recommendation for scholarships are due on January 25. Applications can be found at www.mchs.org/Scholarships.
  • Scholarship and Financial Aid results are communicated by March 1.
  • Registration deadline for the Class of 2023 is March 8.
  • Freshmen Orientation on March 12 at 5 pm, 6 pm and 7 pm.
  • If you missed any of the above deadlines or have any additional questions, please contact our enrollment area.

Tuition

All families regardless of payment plan chosen will be enrolled in Smart Tuition, once registered for the upcoming school year. This tuition management system enables you to pay your tuition bill by credit card or through a savings or checking account. Families who wish to apply for financial aid will need to apply through Smart Aid.

BRING YOUR OWN DEVICE

All students will be required to bring their own device. For more information regarding this program including requirements for devices allowed during instruction, please visit the bring your own device web page. 

Uniforms

Visit our online spirit shop for more information about uniforms and to order spirit wear online.

Cafeteria

To load funds onto your student's lunch account, visit MyMealtime.com. Instructions are on the Resource Board when you log in to your Campus account. Funds can also be loaded onto your lunch account by bringing a check into the cafeteria. Students may also use cash to purchase breakfast and lunch. 

Transportation

Students may register for transportation by visiting the transportation page, www.mchs.org/Transportation, or by accessing the transportation link on the Resource Board when you log in to your Campus account.
