“A coaching award is a great honor,” Lenti explained, “but it was one that was earned because of everyone in the coaching staff and all of the Mount Carmel teachers and faculty.” While having a focus on having the best football team, Coach Frank Lenti also stressed the importance of teamwork and character building. “It’s not about winning, it’s about ensuring that the boys who enter Mount Carmel High School leave as responsible, respectful and accountable men.”

Current Mount Carmel Defensive Coach and 1986 alumnus, Bill Nolan (Beverly, Chicago) discussed the similarity of being coached by him and working as a coach with him. “Playing for Coach Frank is very similar to playing with Coach Frank,” he explained, “For as long as I have known Frank he has been a role model and a mentor.” Now in his 25th year of coaching at Mount Carmel, Nolan and Lenti have spent a lot of time together on the field.

Mount Carmel senior and guard on the varsity football team, Dominic Antonietti (Beverly, Chicago) talked about the lessons he’s learned playing under Coach Frank. “Coach taught me about coming together as a team and making sacrifices for others, “ he explained, “The phrase it’s a we thing, not a me thing, is one I will continue to follow when I leave Mount Carmel.”

Frank Lenti and the Mount Carmel Caravan finished their 2017 season with a Prep Bowl victory over Simeon with a score of 42 - 28.
