The Mount Carmel Caravan placed third in a six-game varsity IHSA regional tournament at Habetler Bowl on Saturday, January 12th, 2019.
The MC boys steamrolled 1023 pins in the first game. Trent Smith '20 collected 234 pins and Derrion Drake-Ford '20 complemented with 215.
In the second game, the Caravan bowled 839 pins.
The third game saw needed improvement, with Hayden Shimala '19 bringing 245 pins down, of a team 988 total.
After the lunch reset, Matthew Martinez '19 bowled 224 pins in the fourth game, of 953 for the team.
In the fifth game, Ameen Morgan '19 secured 225, of 863 team pins.
Despite fading energy at the end of the day, the Caravan rolled 857 pins in the final game, allowing them to achieve an advancing third place finish.
The four advancing teams to the IHSA Sectional on January 19th, 2019 are;
1 - Saint Patrick High School; 6025
2 - Walter Payton College Prep; 5591
3 - Mount Carmel High School; 5523
4 - Jones College Prep; 5383
