Following the State of Illinois mandate, masks are required for all students, faculty, staff and visitors while indoors on campus.
Masks will not be required outdoors.
Mount Carmel will be in-person for all students. All students are expected to be in school.
Regardless of vaccination status, if your son is sick or experiencing any symptoms related to COVID-19, we ask that you keep him home.
Pursuant of CDC guidelines, students, faculty, and staff who are masked and maintained 3 feet of physical distance from an individual that tests positive do not need to quarantine.
Vaccinated students, faculty and staff do not need to quarantine if they are asymptomatic.
If exposed and symptomatic quarantine for 7-10 days
Unvaccinated students' faculty and staff who are in close contact with a positive individual, including family members or a person living in the household, must quarantine
14 days from onset of symptoms.
Can return after A.) 10 days of quarantine and 24 hours symptom free or B.) 7 days quarantine and negative test results.
All sports are scheduled to take place during their respective seasons.
Outdoor sports will not require a mask unless they are meeting or practicing indoors.
The mask mandate applies to all IHSA fall sport practices, contests, and activities that are conducted indoors. Swimmers and divers do not have to wear masks while competing but must adhere at all other times. The masking directive also applies to any winter or spring IHSA sports that may be conducting open gyms, general conditioning, or weightlifting indoors.
There are no spectator limitations.
In person, full school masses will take place.
All activities including intramural sports, spirit week, and Impact weeks are being planned and will take place in person..
Vaccination card submission
If your son is vaccinated and you have not submitted his vaccination card, please scan and email his COVID-19 vaccination card to firstname.lastname@example.org this week. In accordance with HIPPA, information will be kept private. By providing this information you are helping us keep our entire school community safe, better manage through this process, and ensure we will continue to provide an in-person learning environment for the entire year.
