Congratulations! You are in your second year of high school, almost halfway through your high school career. Though your freshman year is now history, your academic and extra-curricular accomplishments are part of your high school record. It is time to assess these accomplishments and establish your goals for the new school year.
Remember, take advantage of the numerous academic and extracurricular opportunities afforded you at Mount Carmel High School and outside of Mount Carmel as you pursue your personal and academic goals.
The foundation you developed as a freshman in the areas of organization and time management is extremely important. They will need to be refined in your second-year of high school. The course workload will increase and choosing to add activities to your “plate” will require a review of how you will plan each day.
This year you will also take the PSAT/NMSQT. It is a great precursor for the SAT and even the ACT. Your score will provide you with a benchmark and tips and tools to increase your chances at a great score for college admission tests, and opportunities for scholarships.
If you have any questions or concerns please see your counselor!
