Paul McCormac was born in Dublin, Ireland and was a brilliant organic chemist who earned his PhD from Dublin City University. His groundbreaking work in the pharmaceutical industry—most notably with Pfizer—earned him multiple patents and recognition as a global leader in large-batch pharmaceutical innovation. A U.S. citizen since 2015, Paul brought his immense intellect, boundless energy, and trademark wit to every facet of life.
Paul passed away suddenly in 2024, and this scholarship stands as a lasting tribute to his memory and passion for science. It will be awarded to a young man with a strong interest in Science or Math, helping to lessen the financial burden of a Catholic education.

The Dr. Paul McCormac Memorial Endowed Scholarship was created by Simon, Rachel and James ('25) McCormac in loving memory of Simon's brother Paul.
