Mount Carmel High School (MCHS), founded in 1900 under the leadership of the Carmelites, is Chicago’s premier college preparatory school for young men. It is located just south of the Museum of Science and Industry, the University of Chicago, and future Obama Presidential Center. Mount Carmel’s diverse student body represents students from over 220 grade schools and 100 different zip codes across Chicago land and Northwest Indiana; it is considered one of the best Catholic high schools in Illinois.

The Vice President of Institutional Development role requires an individual who is a strong leader, understands and is passionate about the mission and vision of the school, and can articulate our mission to donors and prospects in a way that both educates and compels them to give.
This position manages their time, resources, and work load to maximize productivity and financial results; demonstrates exceptional vision.  Leadership and coaching skills are key when collaborating with staff at all levels as the position manages a department of five.
This position requires a highly developed entrepreneurial spirit, and proven adaptability along with a high level of interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communications skills, as well as deep understanding and comfort with database management tools.  The ability to relate well in a professional and easy manner to Board members, donors of all giving levels, and other staff members is critical.  The position requires a solid understanding of standard financial principles and budget preparation.
The ideal candidate will have experience in development and management of a department.

Marketing and Communications Director

If you are energetic, detail oriented, highly self-motivated, and passionate about our mission, please apply.  We are looking for an individual who can tell our story.  To write and edit compelling, clear, and accurate content for diverse audiences and inspire donor support.  The Marketing and Communications Director works from within the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs to imagine, create and produce a variety of communications materials to inspire donor giving and support. Institutional giving priorities such as the annual fund, corporate partnerships, alumni affairs, and planned giving are the focus of the work.  In addition to writing, the Marketing and Communications Director is a strategic thinker, a collegial collaborator, and responsive to the needs of the school.  As such, the director examines website metrics and other information to gauge effectiveness of communications. 
  
Bachelor’s degree in related field.

Admissions Associate

The Admissions Associate will recruit and network successfully with representatives from various communities, organizations, neighborhoods, and schools primarily focused on the Hispanic population.  This position will develop initial contact with prospective students through grammar school visits and open houses, as well as assist with summer camps to bring prospective students on campus; lead tours for prospective students and parents; help to coordinate on-campus events for prospective students and parents.
The Admissions Associate will collaborate with the admissions team to develop and implement both short-term and long-term recruitment and retention strategies to ensure Mount Carmel High School meets enrollment objectives.  This position will play an instrumental role in recruitment and retention for Mount Carmel and will conduct outreach to prospective families and contribute to enrolling promising students who both thrive as part of the school community and in turn contribute to the community as a whole.
The ideal candidate will be a team player with a high level of positive energy and enthusiasm who has a genuine collaborative nature. The Admissions Associate will have the ability to think creatively and adapt to challenging situations. This person must possess superior organization and prioritization skills and be self-motivated in the completion of his/her work. He/She will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills including outstanding writing and public speaking skills and the ability to interact comfortably with a variety of people. The Admissions Associate will have a passion for Catholic all-male education, a genuine empathy for prospective families and an awareness of the needs and sensitivities of parents, students, faculty, staff, and administrators. 
The Admissions Associate will establish and maintain positive lasting relationships externally with area educational constituencies including prospective students and their families, area schools (principals, teachers, guidance counselors), churches (priest and religious education directors), youth clubs, admissions directors, and organizations as well as internally with administrative leadership, staff and faculty.
Other requirements of this position include but are not limited to the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Fluent in Spanish highly preferred
  • Ability to work nights and weekends.
  • Strong presentation skills to small and large groups.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and networking skills.
