Brendan Conroy began his tenure as the President of Mount Carmel High School in July, 2021.  After working in insurance and publishing, he began his educational vocation in 1987 at Leo High School (Chicago), where he taught English and coached freshman football and swimming, among other responsibilities.  Following that, he taught writing and literature courses at the University of Mississippi, and English and Social Sciences at Oxford High School (Mississippi), where he also coached football.  On his return to Chicago, he taught English, coached track and field, and served as department chair, director of admission and assistant principal at St. Ignatius College Prep.  In 2007, he was named the founding Principal of Christ the King Jesuit College Prep (Chicago), and then served as principal of St. Rita of Cascia High School (Chicago). 

Most recently, he served the Midwest Jesuits in their Pre-secondary and Secondary Education office, working with 21 Jesuit high schools and nativity schools across the Midwest.  He has earned degrees from the University of Notre Dame (BA, English), the University of Mississippi (MA, English) and Chicago State University (M.Ed., Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Foundations).  Brendan and his wife,Terry, live in St. Barnabas Parish in Chicago, and are proud parents of 5 children.
