MC vs. St. Rita: JV Bowling, November 6, 2018
The Mount Carmel Caravan defeated the Saint Rita Mustangs 7-2 in a three-game junior varsity bowling match at Burr Oak Bowl on Tuesday, November 6th, 2018.
In the first game, leadoff man Holden Shimala '21 bowled 149 pins, helping the brown and white win two points (541 to 437 team pinfall).
In the second game, captain Trent Smith '20 in pressure man position, and Cristian Martinez '22 in cleanup man position, led the boys to a 638 team pinfall with 182 and 175 pins, respectively. The Mustangs also caught some of the traction that the MC team gained, and rolled 707 pins, stealing away two points for the second game.
The heat waned during the third game, as both teams tired from lane-oil conditions. Nonetheless, the Caravan pulled through and bowled 593 pins to the Mustangs' 469, winning two games and the overall series.
Series pinfall: 1,772 to 1,613.
Series points: 7 to 2.
