Academic Approach is offering a PAID practice ACT for high school juniors and seniors who have taken an official ACT between the dates of August 2018-April 2019. There are two testing days that will take place on Saturday, February 2ndor Saturday, February 16th from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM in Lincoln Park. More details for the location of the test will be sent in the confirmation email. Upon completion of the practice test, you will be compensated $30 for your participation. SCAD: put your artistic vision on display for the opportunity to earn a scholarship to SCAD, The University for Creative Careers. The SCAD Challenge competition is open to current juniors and seniors in high school as of the 2018-19 academic year. Entries must demonstrate creativity, innovation and a strong understanding of aesthetics. A panel of SCAD faculty will review and evaluate submitted entries, and three winners will be selected from each category.

The Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois Program is now recruiting high school seniors to apply for our teacher preparation program. Scholars are provided with extensive teaching experience and advanced preparation to supplement their college curriculum, academic support throughout college, college tuition-assistance and support (up to $23,000), and mentoring during their first years of teaching. The HEAR Scholarship Foundation awards a $20,000 tuition scholarship to Chicagoland High School seniors who demonstrate commitment to their community. Scholarships are paid directly to the college, in increments of $5,000 a year, for four years of higher education. Applicants need to prove they have financial need, must fulfill HEAR’s minimum academic requirements, and must show that they are of outstanding character and caring, active members of their communities.
