One word is often mentioned when students summarize their Mount Carmel experience: Family. The outstanding support and involvement of Mount Carmel parents has helped our true family atmosphere to remain a mainstay of the Mount Carmel tradition since our founding in 1900.

  • Academic Approach Offering PAID practice ACT

    Academic Approach is offering a PAID practice ACT for high school juniors and seniors who have taken an official ACT between the dates of August 2018-April 2019. There are two testing days that will take place on Saturday, February 2nd or Saturday, February 16th from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM in Lincoln Park. More details for the location of the test will be sent in the confirmation email.  Upon completion of the practice test, you will be compensated $30 for your participation. Once we have received your information and confirmed your eligibility, you will receive a confirmation email.   • Empower Illinois and Big Shoulders Illinois Tax Credit Applications

    Mount Carmel will host and assist prospective families at the times listed below for the Empower Illinois and the Big Shoulders Tax Credit Scholarship Applications. Please arrive at the start of the session to ensure your best possible opportunity to submit an early application!  All applicants will need to have PROOF OF RESIDENCE and PROOF OF INCOME scanned and ready to be uploaded at the time of application.  The Empower and Big Shoulders websites offer more detailed information regarding these documents https://empowerillinois.org/ and https://www.bigshouldersfundsgo.org/apply. Please note scholarships will be awarded on a first come first service basis, early registration is important.

    Mount Carmel is hosting a VEX Robotics Competition on Saturday February 9th. Thirty-two teams from around the state are coming to compete in this all day event.     SCAD: put your artistic vision on display for the opportunity to earn a scholarship to SCAD, The University for Creative Careers. The SCAD Challenge competition is open to current juniors and seniors in high school as of the 2018-19 academic year.     The Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois Program is now recruiting high school seniors to apply for our teacher preparation program. Scholars are provided with extensive teaching experience and advanced preparation to supplement their college curriculum, academic support throughout college, college tuition-assistance and support (up to $23,000), and mentoring during their first years of teaching.     The HEAR Scholarship Foundation awards a $20,000 tuition scholarship to Chicagoland High School seniors who demonstrate commitment to their community. Scholarships are paid directly to the college, in increments of $5,000 a year, for four years of higher education.
